How are Nose Fillers used?

Nose fillers is a non-surgical procedure used to improve your nose shape by sculpting a higher nose bridge, a smaller nose or a sharper nose tip. It is also great for correcting an uneven or “bumpy” nose profile caused by the nasal bone shape, as nose fillers can be injected specifically into areas that are to be corrected. For example, if you have a flat nose, fillers can be injected into your nose bridge to add volume and height to your nose. Or if you have a round nose tip and would like to achieve a sharper nose tip, fillers can be injected into the nose tip to sculpt a smaller and thinner nose.

How is Nose Fillers different from Nose Surgery?

dermal fillers singapore

Instead of getting a nose surgery to attain your ideal nose, nose fillers gives similar results with none of the complications and pain associated with a nose surgery. In fact, nose fillers has the advantage of giving more natural looking appearance as the hyaluronic acid injected will attract water molecules to itself and create a volumizing effect. Nose fillers are also mainly made up of hyaluronic acid which the body breaks down eventually over time, hence it is a much safer option. There is also less downtime with nose fillers (30 minutes tops) as compared to surgery downtime, which can take up to 2 weeks for your nose to heal completely.

How does a Nose Filler Procedure Work?

dermal fillers singapore

Our doctors will assess your facial structure and discuss your aesthetic goals before the treatment. During the initial assessment, you will also be briefed on the nature of the fillers, longevity of the fillers, its potential side effects and what to expect during the procedure. Our doctors will also gauge your pain tolerance to ensure you do not feel any discomfort during treatment.

Before starting on the procedure, the injection sites on your nose will be cleaned and disinfected before a numbing cream is applied and left on to settle. After the numbing cream is washed off, our doctor will clean the area with an alcohol wipe before using a fine needle to inject the nose fillers into your nose. Next, our doctor will mould the filler to achieve the desired nose height, volume and final look. Finally, the injected areas on your nose will be cleaned and cold cream applied to reduce swelling and bruising.

The entire procedure usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

FAQ On Nose Fillers

How long can Nose fillers last?

It depends on the type of nose filler used. In general, most fillers last between 1 to 2 years.

What can I expect after the procedure?

You may notice redness, swelling, mild bruising and some transient needle marks right after the procedure. However, these side effects are temporary and should subside after a couple of hours.

Are Nose fillers safe?

Nose fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, and it is a natural substance produced by our body. It is found largely in the skin, connective tissues and eyes. Hence hyaluronic acid is perfectly safe and does not cause any adverse reactions in the majority of people.

However nose fillers requires superior technical skills to avoid injecting into blood vessels in the nose. You should always seek an experienced and highly skilled doctor for this procedure.

What should I avoid after the procedure?

Avoid pressing or touching the injected areas after the nose filler procedure. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to bruising, stay away from alcohol and blood thinning medications for 48 hours.
